Private Practice
Caterina joined Private Practice in the midst of its third season in the recurring role of Dr. Amelia Shepherd. Her first episode aired on Thursday, April 1, 2010. On July 21, 2010 ABC announced that she was joining the cast as a series regular.
Dr. Amelia Shepherd is the youngest sister of Dr. Derek Shepherd, and like her brother, she is also an excellent neurosurgeon whose ambition in proving herself equal to her brother is only surpassed by her surgical skill. Graduating in the top of her class at Harvard and completing her surgical residency at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Shepherd came to LA on a medical case and is currently contemplating staying. She has known Dr. Montgomery for many years and views her as a close friend and sister.
